About Clickedu
Clickedu software is an educational cloud platform that includes academic, administrative, and economic management for schools, a virtual learning environment with a connection to digital books and free content, management tools for teachers, tutors, and heads of studies, as well as an environment for communication with student’s families, among other options.
THE CHALLENGE
ClickEdu was in a situation that required the intervention of an IT team specialized in Amazon Web Services for the operational management and evolution of their platform.
Their main challenge was the optimization of their solution at a global level, improving the scalability and performance of their application, storage, and database services, to allow them to continue guaranteeing the quality of their offered service.
After the evolution of its platform, CLICKEDU also wanted to have a support team to accompany them on their journey, leading their operational management.
SOLUTION
Amazon Aurora and Lambda to improve scalability and high availability
The first thing that was established with the client was a detailed analysis of the platform deployed on AWS with the implementation of advanced monitoring tools.
This analysis allowed us to identify all the issues and all the improvements that should be made following the best practices of AWS in terms of security, performance, and costs.
We designed a roadmap that details all the steps and actions that should be executed, first of all, we redesigned the networking architecture by creating a multilayer VPC solution, then, we proceeded to modify different existing services such AWS Elastic Beanstalk, RDS…to place them on their suitable layer or availability zone guaranteeing maximum security and high availability of the application.
We also proceeded to replace AWS RDS with Aurora MySQL which is a fully managed database highly available and allows global scalability concerning Reader capacity as well as high availability and durability and we eliminated the use of scripting for deployment and versioning and we implemented continuous integration and continuous delivery pipeline based on Jenkins.
After evolving the whole infrastructure, Clickedu decided to continue trusting the team of Nubersia by delegating the management of their IT infrastructure to our specialized team using the managed cloud with its enterprise modality 24/7 monitoring and support.
Up until now, Clickedu kept evolving its platform integrating new technologies with the help of our teams such as serverless with AWS Lambda, and Elastic Container Service AWS ECS for docker management.
